EMI launch new site

Posted on June 13, 2009 in: Music, Tech

EMI have launched a new beta version of their site at www.emi.com. The new site design is incredibly streamlined, and 100% user friendly. One of the highlights of the new site is the ‘Discover‘ service, taking a leaf out of sites such as Last.fm, the site allows you create your own playlists based on artists you already know and love. I tried a number of my favourite artists and the results I got were all closely related to the original artist. I tried out a few artists:

Tegan and Sara – gave results including Hawksley Workman, Bright Eyes and Sarah McLachlan
Coheed & Cambria
– results featured Mars Volta, Avenged Sevenfold and Disturbed
Eminem
– results included Noreaga, Slick Rick and Bubba Sparxxx

The artist section of the site is also much improved. I always like to discover new music, and it’s good to see that up and coming  new artists are featured first in this section of the site; and the selection is very varied too. It’s easy to get to the music you want to hear, and you can either add it to your playlist for play later, or stream each track individually straight away. There’s also plenty of music videos to choose from, with all the usual video capabilities: full-screen playback, etc.

All the tracks and albums on Emi.com can be purchased through the 7Digital site, with prices around the 79p per track price bracket…

Keeping up with all of your favorite movies, games, and comics can get real expensive. You could consider using a cash advance to help.
