Spider-Woman, the long-promised comic book by the all-star team of Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev, is set to debut at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. The comic was originally slated to debut some time ago, after Marvel released Bendis’ Spider-Woman: Origins mini-series. However plans for the book were shelved due to the Skrull invasion storyline Bendis put in place back in New Avengers #1. Now that the Skrull “Secret Invasion” storyline is over and everyone is who the say they are in the Marvel universe (sort of), Bendis and Marvel have returned to the idea of an on-going Spider-Woman title.
In a change to the norm, Marvel are embracing the digital distribution model and debuting Spider-Woman as an online motion comic and prior to the unveiling of the first “issue” at Comic Con, Marvel have released a trailer for the eagerly-awaited book:
