New details on the upcoming Wii sequel No More Heroes 2 have been revealed. This time the sequel to 2008’s original will see Travis again attempt to become the world’s number one assassin, only this time he is “motivated by revenge”. Gameplay features see Travis wield dual Katanas, with four available to unlock. New and improved AI will also be included, while enemies will utilise more complex battle tactics such as double team moves. The game will also ditch 3D job missions in favour of 8-bit style mini games on a 2D plain.

The first No More Heroes featured dismemberment, beheading and showers of blood in the US version of the game, but in the Japanese and European versions, enemies exploded in fountains of ash and coins, which caused a particular storm in the gaming press. The sequel No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle will follow the same route, but this time both versions of the game will be made available in Europe.
