This week Nu Image and Millennium Films announced the greenlight for Stallone’s Rambo 5. According to the story on Variety, the film was said to feature Rambo “fighting his way through human traffickers and drug lords to rescue a young girl abducted near the U.S.-Mexico border.” However it seems that synopsis was entirely false…
In a discussion with the guys over at AICN, Stallone confirmed that the story doesn’t take place at the US Mexico border, rather the Pacific Northwest where we first saw Rambo in the original movie, and that the plot involves a secret U.S. military installation where they are doing experiments to create “brilliantly instinctual killer soldiers that have no qualms about taking life.” And when things go wrong, Rambo is brought in with a Black Ops squad to hunt, capture and kill the chemically engineered soldiers.
AICN have also revealed the title and teaser poster for the new film, Rambo V: The Savage Hunt
