Review: We Love Comics Con

This afternoon marked the first inaugural We Love Comics Con from the team behind ThoughtBubble, the UK’s newest and best comics convention. Taking place at the Leeds branch of Travelling Man, the con featured five top-notch comic creators – Andy Diggle, Adi Granov, Liam Sharp, Frazer Irving and Peter Doherty – signing and sketching for for fans of all ages. The event was free and open to all, and comic fangirls and fanboys (myself included) came from all over the country, some from as far afield as London, to meet and greet their favourite artists and writers.

With plenty of attendees the atmosphere was electric and with the offer of free Gears of Wars buns and Marvel Corinthians fans were in high spirits. Despite the cramped conditions everyone had a good time, and the creators in attendance were more than obliging – chatting, sketching and signing anything and everything put infront of them. This afternoon’s We Love Comics Con is the first in what is set to be an annual touring mini convention, and if today’s event is anything to go by, then this years ThoughtBubble is set to be the best yet…
