Part one of the TV adaptation of Stephen King’s eponymous book. When a storm hits a small island community the residents are visited by a mysterious stranger who knows the townsfolk’s deepest desires and darkest secrets. Parts 2 and 3 immediately follow.
9.00pm Deep Evil (Zone Horror)
Mega Shark and Giant Octopus battler Lorenzo Lamas fights a whole different type of monster in this DTV sci-fi action flick. An alien microbe lands in remote Siberia in the 1950’s and in the year 2004, US scientist working at a top secret underground lab in Alaska clone the microbe. A garbled distress signal is heard from the lab just before a complete lock down of the facility and total radio silence. Which leads to the military sending in a team of scientists and military personnel to find what went wrong.
9.55pm Monolith (Film24)
Bill Paxton and Lindsay Frost star as two cops investigating the murder of a young boy. They become involved in a very secret project involving alien life, which leads them into a showdown with the mysterious authorities running the project. From director John Eyres (Xtro 2, Project Shadowchaser)
11.00pm Emmanuelle in Space: A World of Desire (Movies 24)
See The Final Destination’s Krista Allen in her very first film role as sultry sexpot Emmanuelle. Beautiful bodies, weak story line, dialogue and acting; second rate cinematography and copious amounts of softcore erotica in a sci-fi setting. What else do you want from an Emmanuelle movie?
12.10pm Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death (Movies4Men 2)
The U.S. government, eager to protect the nation’s avacado supplies, recruits feminist professor Margo Hunt to make contact with the Piranha Women, an all-female tribe who believe men are only good as a source of food. Accompanying Dr. Hunt on her trip are Jim, a guide of questionable competence, and Bunny, a student of unquestionable incompetence. Stars Shannon Tweed, Bill Maher and Adrienne Barbeau.
