Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld has confirmed that Ryan Reynolds WILL star in the Marvel spinoff movie.
Reynolds portrayed the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine earlier in the year, but there were worries he would not reprise the role after landing the lead in Warner Bros/DC Comics film Green Lantern. But fans need not have worried. Liefeld relayed details from a meeting with X-Men and Deadpool producer Lauren Shuler Donner via his Twitter page, including the following tweets:
Great Deadpool movie meeting! Lauren Schuler Donner and her team are headed in the right direction!
Deadpool movie checklist- DP in costume-check! Breaking 4th wall-check! Loads of killing-double check!
Deadpool movie- YES! Ryan Reynolds is on board!!!

Also excited to discuss possibilities of Cable in future X-films!!!
What that means I have no idea, but 1) Reynolds is playing Deadpool, and 2) Cable! Epic news all round I think…
