Splice, directed by Vincenzo Natali, stars Sarah Polley and Adrien Brody, and explores a dark vision of the world of genetic engineering:
Elsa and Clive, two young rebellious scientists, defy legal and ethical boundaries and forge ahead with a dangerous experiment: splicing together human and animal DNA to create a new organism. Named Dren, the creature rapidly develops from a deformed female infant into a beautiful but dangerous winged human-chimera, who forges a bond with both of her creators – only to have that bond turn deadly.
Attendees at this years London Film4 FrightFest were treated to a special screening of 5 minutes from Natali’s Splice, now SOME of that footage has found it’s way online, courtesy of Rotten Tomatoes:
Sadly, according to reports, Senator - the studio that produced Splice have gone under. So if and when we finally see the film has yet to be determined, I suspect the film may go DTV.
