Sony have announced that following the release of an update to the PS3 firmware, the PlayStation Network Video Delivery Service has now gone live across Europe, bringing over 2,000 movies to homes – all of which are available to rent or buy via the platform. The service is currently accessible in the UK, France, Germany and Spain. The service will arrive in other territories next year.

As was previously announced, launch titles include Angels And Demons, Bruno, The Dark Knight, Drag Me to Hell, Gran Torino, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Public Enemies, Star Trek, Terminator Salvation and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Additional content will be added on a weekly basis.

Purchased films can be stored on the PS3’s hard drive and transferred to the PSP to watch on the move. Customers who opt to rent films have up to 14 days to view them, but once playback is started, they are only valid for 48 hours.

The same firmware update also brings Facebook integration to the PS3…

Keeping up with all of your favorite movies, games, and comics can get real expensive. You could consider using a cash advance to help.
