I see a bad moon rising in the news that independent producers Joel Kastelberg and Moonstone Entertainment’s Etchie Stroh are re-launching the long running Howling werewolf franchise with The Howling: Reborn.
Former studio marketing exec Joe Nimziki, who worked at New Line, MGM and Sony, will make his feature directorial debut from his own script. The film is due to start shooting in February for a Halloween 2010 release. The original film, The Howling, was directed by the legendary Joe Dante from a script by John Sayles, was released in 1981 and spawned six(!) sequels.
Moonstone Entertainment also have the Stephen King adapation From a Buick 8 in the works…
