The only extra material on the 1-disc DVD will be first looks at Batman Under the Red Hood, Green Lantern, and Superman/Batman Public Enemies, plus trailers. The 2-disc DVD and Blu-ray will include that feature along with a new animated short: The Spectre, a new featurette: The New World, and A Better World Part 1 and 2 which were previously on Justice League Unlimited S2, plus more – check out the specs:

  • DC Showcase: The Spectre
  • A First Look at ‘Batman Under the Red Hood’
  • Green Lantern First Look
  • Superman/Batman Public Enemies First Look
  • Wonder Woman: The Amazon Princess “
  • The New World” – Extended Cut
  • Bruce Timm’s Top Picks
  • A Better World, Parts 1 and 2 (previously on Justice League Unlimited S2 DVD release)
  • Twilight, Parts 1 and 2 (previously on Justice League Unlimited S2 DVD release)
  • DC TV pilot episodes (live -action)
  • Wonder Woman (previously on Wonder Woman S1 DVD release)
  • Aquaman (never before released)
  • Trailers
  • Digital Copy Online (DCON)

There’s a fair few interesting features on the Blu-ray release, including the extra animated short DC Showcase: The Spectre, which is the first animated short in the all-new DC Showcase series. The sshort focuses on a detective story with an ethereal twist, featuring the otherworldly character originally introduced by DC Comics in 1940. The short is written by Steve Niles (30 Days of Night), and the voice cast includes Gary Cole (Entourage) and Alyssa Milano (Charmed).

Plus, did you notice they’ve accidentally announced the name of the next DC Animated release? Batman Under the Red Hood – sounds like it could be interesting. Based on the title it sounds like it could be an adaptation of the Jason Todd storyline Under the Hood..?
