Variety are reporting that Sony have greenlit a sequel to the hit US zom-com Zombieland, with the original director Ruben Fleischer returning.
Sony has closed deals with producer Gavin Polone and director Fleischer to return for a sequel to the original, which cost $24 million and has earned $85.2 million worldwide to date – despite having only opened in a few overseas markets. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are already at work on the sequel’s screenplay.
No news on whether stars Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg are returning, however the studio is currently in talks with the pair to reprise their roles as a pair of post-apocalyptic survivors…
