EXCLUSIVE: Confirmed – ‘Black Death’ delayed till late May

blackdeath_002

We’ve just heard back from distributors Revolver regarding the delay of Black Death, the highly anticipated next film from Triangle director Chris Smith. Luckily for fans of Smith, and the film’s star Sean Bean, there are NO problems with the film that would necessitate a delay, the situation is merely down to marketing.

The original release date for Black Death was set to be February 19th, however Solomon Kane is now set to debut in the UK on the very same date so Revolver have:

…made a strategic decision to avoid clashing with [Solomon Kane].

The company want Black Death to do as well as it possibly can at the UK box-office – and deservedly so, Smith’s Triangle was released in a crowded market and got lost in the shuffle – so the move is a smart one, however it now puts the film up against [REC]2 which is released the same day…

Revolver also told us that both the trailer and UK quad artwork are due shortly, and we’ll bring you them as soon as we have them.

Black Death is now scheduled for a UK release on May 28th 2010.
