THR’s Heat Vision Blog is reporting that Shiloh Fernandez has joined the cast of Catherine (Twilight) Hardwicke’s The Girl With the Red Riding Hood. Fernandez is set to be the love interest of the eponymous girl, played by Amanda Seyfried; he will play Peter, an orphaned woodcutter whom Seyfried falls in love with, much to the displeasure of her family.
The Girl With the Red Riding Hood comes from Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company Appian Way, and is a dark retelling of the Little Red Riding Hood story from Orphan scribe David Leslie Johnson, that is akin to the original Brothers Grimm fairy tale (think Company of Wolves, rather than a Disney movie).
