Colton Haynes can currently be seen in ABC’s new supernatural series The Gates playing a teenage werewolf with an anger management problem. But The Gates is not his first foray into wolf-dom, the actor shot the pilot for MTV’s new Teen Wolf redux BEFORE landing his role on ABC’s new drama…
Speaking to the New York Post about his role on The Gates, Haynes went on to reveal what viewers can expect from Teen Wolf:
This is not the overly goofy version. I know people love that, but our version is so real and very dark. It comes from Jeff Davis, who did “Criminal Minds,” so you know it’s a really dark show. It’s nothing like the movie. The characters are similar and the story is a little similar, but it’s definitely not goofy.
Teen Wolf stars Tyler Posey, as the newly bitten werewolf, ‘Scott McCall,’ Dylan O’Brien as his best friend ‘Stiles,’ Crystal Reed as the mysterious new girl in town, ‘Allison,’ and Tyler Hoechlin as the older and possibly quite dangerous werewolf, ‘Derek Hale’. The series is a co-production between MTV and MGM. The pilot was directed by Russell Mulcahy (Highlander) and written by Jeff Davis (Criminal Minds).
