Variety are reporting that UK broadcaster Channel 4 has acquired the rights to new US drama series The Event.
The series, a conspiracy thriller, follows Sean Walker (Jason Ritter) as he investigates the disappearance of his fiance Leila (Sarah Roemer) and unwittingly begins to expose the biggest political cover-up in US history. Channel 4 will air the series from this October, mere weeks behind the US transmission.
The Event, a production of Universal Media Studios and Steve Stark Productions, will air in the US on NBC this fall.
