It seems the studios are having a field day releasing tons of new images from their forthcoming 2012 flicks, including the eagerly-awaited The Hunger Games, Will Ferrell’s Casa de Mi Padre and the summer superhero blockbuster The Amazing Spider-Man.
The Hunger Games
The Hunger Games takes place in the futuristic ruins of North America, which crumbled and were replaced by a Capitol and 12 districts. Each district is forced to supply 2 teenagers, between 12 and 18. They participate in “The Hunger Games”, a televised reality series that pits the contestants against one another in a battle to the death. The heroine is 16-year old Katniss Everdeen, a skilled hunter who’s adept with a bow and arrow. She replaces her younger sister, who was chosen in a lottery.
Casa de Mi Padre
Casa de Mi Padre is a brand-new Spanish language(!) comedy that tells the story of Armando Alvarez who has lived and worked on his father’s ranch in Mexico his entire life. When he encounters financial difficulties, Armando’s younger brother Raul shows up with his new fiancé. But when Armando falls for Sonia, all hell breaks loose as they find themselves in a war with Mexico’s most feared drug lord.
The Amazing Spider-Man
The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Ifans), his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.
